Life is difficult and one of the only things it guarantees is change.
I am closing my practice and will begin working with the Veterans Administration on September 9, 2013.
I will no longer offer private practice counseling services after that date.
I was recently approached about working with homebound veterans in our area. The interview process was quicker than expected and the Veterans Administration offer provided for long neglected family needs. The expeditious timing of this opportunity makes the transition quick but certainly not painless. To some this move will come as a shock. I regret not being able to give more time for the transition. I will be available by phone, text or email (free of charge) to help current and former clients consider options for continuing with another therapist, and, if desired, to review our work together.
The same rules of confidentiality will be in effect; I will not speak of you to anyone unless you authorize disclosure by signing a release of information. Due to the small size of the East Texas community, we will probably run into each other on occasion. I will not speak to you publicly unless you initiate contact with me or unless ignoring you would somehow expose our previous connection.
My contact information will remain the same with the exception of a physical address.

messages can be left at the old office number 903-677-4800, which my colleague, Summer Wilson, LCSW, will continue to use.
It has been a privilege to walk with my clients on this phase of their journey.
Please continue working toward better solutions and wholeness with the help of one of the many talented professionals available in our area (see list on the next page)
